Miami has been one of the most aggressive NIL operators in the ACC, with the Canes Connection collective and deep South Florida donor and business networks behind it. Quarterback Darian Mensah arrived with a reported package of about $6.5 million and the No. 1 spot on On3's NIL 100, among the largest publicly reported deals in college football. Alongside that third party spending, the House settlement lets Miami pay athletes directly from athletic revenue since 2025, capped near $20.5 million departmentwide in the first year and increasing annually. Football drives most of the budget, but basketball and baseball athletes also participate in a market with plentiful local endorsement opportunities.
