Memphis plays in the American Conference, and Group of Five NIL budgets generally run far below power conference levels, but Memphis is a notable exception in corporate support. In 2024 FedEx pledged $25 million over five years for sponsorship deals with Memphis athletes, widely described as the largest corporate NIL partnership in college sports, initially focused on football and basketball. That gives the Tigers unusual resources for their level.
